Wai Taiko Drummers are 25 years old! Celebrate with us and experience the power of Japanese taiko drumming with rhythms old and new.

Wai Taiko Drummers are a community-based performance group whose members are committed to taking the dramatic performance art of Japanese taiko drumming to audiences around the Waikato and beyond. This event celebrates our 25 year journey, and features performance pieces reflecting this journey.  We will showcase a range of traditional instruments from the massed large drums through hand-held bells (‘chanchiki’) and cymbals (‘chappa’) to the transverse bamboo flute (‘shinobue’).  Under 18s free.
