To The Front Kirikiriroa - Raglan fundraiser gig ALL AGES
Come support a good cause & enjoy the soulful tunes of three singer/songwriters including: Soulti, Greta O'Leary & Kyla Greening! ALL AGES
The Yard, Raglan, March 14, Doors open 6pm – Tickets are on the door only – $10 entry or $15 with a raffle ticket.
Bring the whole family and celebrate with us to the soulful tunes of:
Soulti (Whāingaroa)
Raglan-based electronic-pop artist Soulti aka Teresa Michels has released her debut single ‘Evergreen’ at the end of 2023. Inspired by her recent trip to India, the track is bright, hook-laden, immersive, and features both pop and dance elements. Teresa is a fixture of the Raglan music scene and has been performing at boutique festivals throughout NZ over the Summer while preparing her debut EP for independent release. Expect big things!
Greta O’Leary (Te Whanganui a Tara)
Spook-folk Sweetheart Greta O’Leary is a songwriter and musician whose pervasive yet spacious sound cuts through the thickest of skins. Poignant, heartbreaking, and occasionally absurd, O’Leary seizes us with her dynamic voice, bending the folk-genre to another plane. Think Angel Olsen meets Vashti Bunyan.
Kyla Greening (Kirikiriroa)
Kirikiriroa-born singer/multi-instrumentalist Kyla Greening remembers her father teaching her music theory in scrawled notations on the back of a surfboard, or family dinners where the sing-alongs were almost as important as the food. With heroes such as Stevie Wonder, Mint Condition, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Tori Kelly, Kyla was able to study and be inspired by thick rhythmic grooves, soaring melodies and meaningful words. Expect smooth & soaring vocals and expertly crafted songs.
This show is for ALL AGES: Under 18s must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. (Please note: Due to licensed premises laws, anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian – this means a designated adult or friend’s parent will not suffice).
Raffle tickets are $5 each and will be on sale on the night and the raffle winners will be drawn at a subsequent event on 30th March.
‘To the Front’ a gender-inclusive music development programme encourages young women, trans, intersex, takatāpui, and gender-diverse youth to embrace their creativity in a safe space. Running from 15 – 19th July 2024, we are so incredibly excited for the opportunity to bring this to the Waikato, but we’re also a long way from having the means to make it happen.
Money raised from this event, subsequent fundraiser events, and our Kirikiriroa Raffle (which is full of amazing prizes) will go towards all of the costs involved in making this dream a reality for our future participants.
