🎉 Opening Event & Awards Ceremony: Saturday 13 September, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Threadbare is a contemporary mixed-media embroidery group within the Waikato Embroiderers’ Guild. The group explores the outer edges of embroidery, incorporating not only needle and thread but also paint, fabric, paper, dyes, wire, and anything else that sparks creativity. Their work celebrates texture, colour, and technique—pushing the boundaries of what embroidery can be.
The Needle’s Edge display showcases two years of experimentation, learning, and artistic growth since the group’s inception. Visitors will see a progression from initial samples and works in progress to completed embroidered art pieces.
