A hands-on stone carving experience using Omaru stone.

Living and working in Tauhei just north of Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, Karin Barr is recognised both nationally and internationally for her sculptural pieces.  With a background in stone carving, Karin started to explore the techniques of glass casting nearly 20 years ago.  Her work now often combines these processes creating beautiful juxtapositions of colour and surface texture.

In this workshop Karin will work alongside participants as she shares her skills and knowledge. During this hands-on experience, Karin will be guiding each person to produce their own unique sculptural piece from Omaru stone.

All stone material is provided and tool hire is included in the cost of the workshop – just bring yourself and plenty of creative ideas!
