Since their first exhibition last year, a group of local creative folk have continued to experiment with making their own bronze sculptures.

The Bronzies collective is made up of potters, ceramists, teachers, jewellers, a midwife and a blacksmith – all of whom are inspired by the alchemy of fire and the lost-wax process of casting bronze sculpture.

This process is quite involved and needs good team work, so The Bronzies banded together to share (and in some cases make) the equipment and resources needed to get pouring. They meet in each other’s studios and workshops to create and inspire and share lunches along with the latest news!

The Bronzie’s exhibition “Still Hooked on Bronze” is at ArtsPost until April 26.
