    Six Extinctions

    12 Apr – 21 Jul

Get face to face with some of history’s largest and deadliest predators at Waikato Museum.

Get face to face with some of history’s largest and deadliest predators in Six Extinctions.

Visit Waikato Museum to take a journey through 485 million years exploring an incredible collection of replica fossils, life-like models, large artworks, and a life-sized cast of the largest Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered!

You’ll meet the top predators from past geological periods including Dunkleosteus, a giant armoured fish that terrorised the seas; Inostrancevia, a tiger-sized sabre-toothed beast; and Postosuchus, a huge crocodile-like carnivorous reptile at this eye-opening exhibition produced by Australia’s Gondwana Studios.

Learn about what caused the five previous mass extinction events, what became extinct, and how this shaped the world we know today. While these catastrophic events are a natural part of life on Earth, Six Extinctions also explores the sixth and current extinction crisis – climate change – which is the first caused by a single species, humans.
