Join Cantando Choir for a choral masterclass with renowned vocal coach Dr Anna Leese or enjoy the presentation and afternoon tea with the Choir.

Cantando Choir is holding a 2-hour vocal performance workshop with renowned Soprano Anna Leese on August 22nd at St Peter’s Cathedral, from 1pm until 3pm. All singers are warmly invited to this inspiring, hands-on choral workshop.

The workshop will include two movements from Brahm’s Requiem (sung in English) No1 Blessed are they that mourn and No4 How lovely are Thy dwellings, and Verdi’s “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves” from Nabucco, and his “Triumphal Chorus” from Aida. These are popular and well-known works which choral singers will enjoy practising.

The workshop is a valuable opportunity for any choral singer interested in improving their vocal techniques to enhance their singing. 

Participation in the workshop is $15 per person. Copies of the music will be included in the cost. (The workshop is free for current Cantando Choir members.) To facilitate the preparation of music, please register your intention to attend by Friday 14 August at info@cantando.org.nz .

After the workshop, at 3.30pm, Cantando Choir and other singers who participated in the workshop will present the music worked on to an audience of friends/family and the general public. The cost of the presentation will be $15pp for the audience (cash door sales) and includes afternoon tea with the Choir following the event (4.15pm).
