Sculpt Nature

Oct 18 – 27

Artist applications are open now for this eco-sculpture symposium and competition at the Brook Sanctuary in Nelson!

The second annual Sculpt Nature Competition is set to take place from 18-27 October this year in partnership with the Nelson Arts Festival!

Sculpt Nature was first launched in 2022 as a 9-day eco-sculpture symposium and competition hosted by the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary. The aim of the competition is to bring together the creative arts and conservation sectors through a symposium event that focuses on using natural materials. The sculptors’ work will inspire a greater connection between the public and the natural environment while spreading the message of ecosystem restoration to the wider community.

Each selected artist will get a $1,000 stipend along with the chance to win $5,000 for first place, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third.

If this sounds like you, we’d love representation from artists all across the country. Artists applications are open now!
