School Holiday Programme: Puppet Making at the Museum

Jul 8 – 10

Create a puppet and explore storytelling with Ifat Vanyer from AIO Puppets.

Make the most of the winter school holidays with this opportunity for your children to learn how to make their own unique puppets, inspired by the exhibitions here at Te Whare Taonga.

In these hands-on sessions, tamariki will learn how to manipulate puppets, create a story, and design the stage for performances.

Parents are invited to come along at the end of each day to watch a showcase of the children’s mahi!

Schedule: 9am to 3pm

  • Tuesday 8th July: Create talking puppets inspired by our Inside Out exhibition.
  • Wednesday 9th July: Create rod puppets inspired by Exscite.
  • Thursday 10th July: Shadow puppetry inspired by Te Winika and the stories from our Ripples exhibition.
