Ruapehu Art Awards

The Ruapehu Art Awards is a prized based Art Competiton open to all New Zealand based 2D, 3D Artists and photographers

Sharpen your Pencils and get out your brushes everyone, The Ruapehu Art Awards are back on. After 2 years of delays due to Covid, we’re back on track. The Awards will be held over Matariki this year. Opening night and prize giving will be on the 13th of July 2023 and the exhibition will run over two weeks.  Wine and nibbles will be provided on opening night. This Art Competition is open to all 2D and 3D Artists and Photographers New Zealand wide

Categories and Prizes will include:

• Supreme Winner ( will be selected from any Category)

Prize money to be confirmed – upwards of $1000

• Fibre Art Prize $500

• Maori Art- open media 2D or 3D Prize $500

2D* Open – any wall-hung artwork in any media Prize $500

• Ruapehu Themed open media 2DPrize $500

• 3D – Sculpture, Ceramics, Carving, and any other type of 3D Artwork Prize $500

• Photography Prize $500

• People’s Choice Prize to be confirmed

• Junior Art section (up to year 8). Prizes to be confirmed

• Young Adults (Year 9 -13 ) Prizes to be confirmed
