Ripples: Digital Storytelling Workshop

A two-day digital storytelling workshop in connection to our exhibition Ripples.
Join He Koniahi Story Circle for this digital storytelling workshop.
In this workshop you will be guided through a hands-on, creative and culturally grounded process to script, voice, and edit your own short digital story — or work with our team to record and shape your koorero into a compelling short film.
The workshop will be led by experienced facilitator Sasha McLaren, supported by Fabrice Coquet, from our creative and technical team.
What to expect
All participants will:
- Find and script their story
- Voice record their narration
- Learn basic video editing skills
- Leave with their completed short film (1–5 minutes), transferred onto a USB or personal device to keep.
This course is inclusive, beginner-friendly, and culturally safe. No prior digital skills are required — only a desire and commitment to tell a story.
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the weekend. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch each day.
