Regency Promenade and Picnic Dance

2 Nov, 2024

The inaugural Dance Folkus Regency Promenade & Picnic Dance at the Hamilton Gardens Victorian Entrance

Dance Folkus presents another opportunity to enjoy dances from the regency era with a regency-style dance picnic – Imagine the era of Jane Austen or Bridgerton . There will be regency-era dancing (with instruction), and we encourage promenading  with your parasol (Ladies) or cane (Gentlemen) to enjoy social discourse with ‘the ton’  – or in this case ‘the Tron’! Dance Folkus has been holding Jane Austen assemblies and related events since 2011 and it is always fun to see people enjoy the joy and conviviality of dancing.

1.30 – 3.00pm Saturday 2nd November  – Dancing is in the black and white tiled area by the Victorian Archway  (old Victorian glasshouses entrance off Cobham Drive). BYO comestibles, chairs/mat, Parasol/Cane, and wear regency attire suitable for the weather. Parking of carriages is best at Gate 2 in the top carpark . The event is free.

CANCELLED if wet or inclement weather, and we’ll plan for another occasion. Enquiries – 022 340 7865 or dancefolkus@slingshot.co.nz
