Raglan Arts Weekend 2023 over Labour Weekend
Join us over Labour Weekend for the Raglan Arts Weekend 2023, our much anticipated annual open studio art event.
The Raglan Arts Weekend (RAW), now in its 13th year, draws thousands of art aficionados from across the country who come to get a sneak peek into the creative process of Raglan’s local talent. We’ve got lots of new artists this year plus some of our established favourites. You can visit 42 artists working in an exciting and diverse range of media from recycled metal sculpture, grafitti art, textiles and ceramics to jewellery, photography and taxidermy, as well as the more traditional art forms, such as painting and illustration.
RAW is a self-guided tour, with visitors using the Arts Trail booklet and map, and web site to help them plot their own routes. You can start your tour at the Old School Arts Centre where you can pick up a brochure, see some of the artist studios, get a feel for the art from each studio, and plan the rest of your day or weekend. There will also be a Preview Exhibition and 300×300 show where you can pick up a limited artwork for a fraction of the original price.
This year, we also have “The Hatch”, an emerging artists show including 16 up and coming Whaingaroa artists, brought to you by Rangitahi Peninsula and the WDC Creative Communities.
Join us for our opening night too at Rock-It. It’s a ticketed event and includes a welcome drink and four course ‘walk and fork’ menu.
