Pride Collection Talk & Tour

7 Apr

In support of Hamilton Pride Month, Waikato Museum is highlighting the queer and takataapui art in its collection

In support of Hamilton Pride Month, Waikato Museum Te Whare Taonga o Waikato is celebrating the LGBTTQIA+ art in its collection.

Come along for a free public talk by one of our curators highlighting the queer and takataapui art in Waikato Museum’s collection, to learn more about some of our artworks and the lives of the artists who created them.

Then you can go deeper by signing up for the strictly limited tour of our collection store. This behind-the-scenes exploration will mean you can see with your own eyes a selection of artworks by Frances Hodgkins, Toss Woollaston, and contemporary LGBTTQIA+ Waikato artists.

The free talk (all welcome) will begin at 10am, the paid tour will follow, beginning at approximately 10.45am.

Tour price = $20 per person, booking fees may apply. Limited to 12 attendees.
