Opus Orchestra presents Stars Aligned concert with soloists from NZSO

29 Jul

Opus Orchestra & NZSO soloists in fabulous Stars Aligned concert featuring Brahms Double Concerto and Mendelssohn Symphony No.3 "Scottish"

Opus Orchestra is excited to welcome our Patron, James Judd, as Guest Conductor for this star-studded programme. Vesa-Matti Leppänen (violin) and Andrew Joyce (cello) join us from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra as soloists in Brahms’ superb Concerto for Violin and Violincello.

Mendelssohn’s charming Symphony No.3 in A minor, the ‘Scottish’, evokes the ruins and landscapes that inspired the young composer during a visit to Scotland.

Two New Zealand miniatures complete the programme – Larry Pruden’s take on ‘God Save the Queen’ and Fractions by Eve de Castro-Robinson.

An evening with stars celebrating stars – beautiful orchestral music performed by brilliant musicians. Be uplifted and inspired.
