The New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award, presented by the Waikato Society of Arts, is back for 2024.

This hotly contested award attracts high numbers of artist entries from across the motu and further afield, and it’s not surprising when the two main awards are $15,000 each, with the two merit awards paying $2,000 each.

Judges Kura Te Waru-Rewiri and Marian Maguire selected 62 finalists for the 2024 show, and you can enjoy all 62 artworks at Artpost Galleries (120 Victoria Street, Hamilton), Fri 12 Apr – Sun 5 May. As well as artist panel talks on Sat 20 and 27 Apr, 10.30am.
