Join with Sandra Morris and connect with nature through journalling in our special arboretum space.

As part of a celebration of Waikato’s Gardens in Spring, we are privileged to welcome Sandra Morris to Waitakaruru Arboretum. Sandra will share her knowledge in this relaxed Nature Journalling workshop.  Sandra is a Whanganui based author and illustrator with many years working in publishing and education.  She now directs the Sandra Morris Illustration Agency.  As a full member of the Botanical Art Society of NZ as well as a member of the Botanical Art Society of America, Sandra is perfectly placed to guide the exploration of nature through drawing in our special arboretum site.

Slow down and discover the intricacies of nature as you join with Sandra to explore the beauty of the natural environment through drawing, watercolour and written word. No experience is necessary, this is a personal process and each individual will have their own approach to their journal. Sandra is happy to work alongside each participant to allow them to explore their skills and connect with their surroundings.  

Participants will need to bring – a notebook/journal, watercolours, coloured pencils, any other drawing materials you are comfortable working with, a magnifying glass, small ruler and a folding stool or something to sit on.
