Mermaids! A String Puppet Theatre Workshop for Adults

String Puppet 3 Day Workshop – Threads of Ancestry: A Soul Connection.

We’re excited to welcome you to this immersive creative wānanga.

This workshop is a rare opportunity to explore the art of string puppetry as a vessel for storytelling, whakapapa, and ancestral connection.
 

Workshop Details:

📍 Venue: The Arts Village Rotorua, 1240 Hinemaru Street, Rotorua

📅 Dates & Times:

• Friday 14th November – 12pm to 8pm

• Saturday 15th November – 9am to 5pm

• Sunday 16th November – 9am to 3pm

🎨 What to Expect:

• All materials provided. (Please bring your own scissors and cutting knife, if possible)

• Each participant will design and create their own string puppet

• Learn manipulation techniques and explore narrative through movement

• Attendance across all three days is essential

• Light snacks provided – please bring your own lunch (café onsite available)

💰 Cost: $150 per person
