40 art studios open to the public from Matarangi to Tairua.

Head to Mercury Bay on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula on the first 2 weekends in March and see the work of some of Coromandel’s most talented artists. Mercury Bay Art Escape Open Studios showcases 40 artists from Tairua, Hot Water Beach, Hahei, Cooks Beach, Ferry Landing, Coroglen, Whenuakite, Whitianga, Kuaotunu, Opito Bay and Matarangi. Media includes ceramics,jewellery, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography,glass, art books and mosaics. Artists open their studios for you to visit and see and hear about their creative processes. All artwork is for sale so you can buy direct from the artist.

To plan your visit pick up an Art Guide from Coromandel Information centres, libraries and cafes on the Coromandel or visit the Showcase exhibition at Hot Waves Cafe that features one work from each artist.

Studios are open  4th & 5th and 11th & 12th of March 2023, 10am to 4pm.
