Hamiltonians are invited to enjoy a month-long celebration of Matariki with free events including kite flying, stargazing, dance, and live music, all taking place across the city and wider Waikato region from 13 June to 13 July.

The whaanau-friendly Matariki ki Waikato festival features a vibrant programme spanning arts, music, hauora (wellbeing), taiao (environment), and education. Most events are free or koha-based (by donation), ensuring accessibility for all.
