The Nancy Caiger Gallery is proud to present a new body of work, 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 by Kirikiriroa-based photographer Ruth Friedlander.
𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 is a collection of landscapes photographed in a number of locations in the South and North Islands of Aotearoa, as well as the Southern and Northern Coast of California, USA. While the landscapes themselves range in atmosphere influenced by time of day, seasons and weather, they each investigate a mode of seeing that is meditative, often seeming from above and outside.
Ruth has a Bachelor of Media Arts (Honours, First Class) from the Waikato Institute of Technology’s School of Media Arts, and has worked as a graphic and digital designer for the last fifteen years. She has contributed to group exhibitions at Ramp Gallery and Never Project Space in Kirikiriroa, and held a solo photographic exhibition in WINTEC’s X-block Gallery as a culmination of her honours project in 2021.
𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 will be available to view from September 13 – October 16.
Join us to celebrate on Thursday September 22 at 6pm. The artist will be present and the evening is open to all.
