🐄 Be part of the magic as we celebrate the newest addition to Morrinsville’s iconic Herd of Cows! Whether you’re an artist, a cow-lover, or just curious, come enjoy live painting, community vibes, and a splash of creativity.

Let’s make art that mooooves people!

Join us for the free celebration event of the Cow Art Festival on Saturday, August 9, at 11:00 a.m. This live art event marks the beginning of our donation campaign in honour of the gallery’s 15th anniversary. You will have the opportunity to witness the incredible talent of local artists as they bring one of Morrinsville’s iconic Herd of Cows to life.

The painting event for our renovated cow has run successfully from July 22 to August 10, 2025. Over sixteen local artists have been painting the cow live, guided by our curator, Elizabeth Borrows, and supported by our dedicated Fundraising Committee.

This journey will culminate in the unveiling of our renovated cow, currently named “Mooloo.” She will reveal a new design and a new name this year in in October. “Mooloo” has proudly contributed to one of New Zealand’s most dynamic street art projects—the Morrinsville Herd of Cows. We extend a massive thank you to Colin and Sharyn Fabish from Professionals Real Estate in Morrinsville for generously transferring the ownership of “Mooloo” to our gallery.

We also celebrate the creators of well-being and connections in Waikato and wish to express our gratitude to the Seales Family Trust,  Saz Kebab, Bayleys Real Estate, House of Travel, Resene, Health and Safety Connexions, Power Farming for their generous support of the Cow Art Festival 2025.

A special note of appreciation goes to all the artists, volunteers, and financial supporters involved in the Cow Art Festival 2025! About the Morrinsville Gallery

Morrinsville Art Gallery Charitable Trust launches its  Annual Appeal 2025. Your donation or sponsorship will help  the Morrinsville Gallery Family  to continue our art, culture and tourism efforts in  creating a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming  farming district in the Mighty  Waikato

We are proud to celebrate our 15th anniversary in 2025 as the heart of community art in the Matamata-Piako District. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and vibrant space for both locals and visitors in Morrinsville and throughout the beautiful Waikato region.

As a non-profit organization, we rely entirely on community support. We have one full-time director, one part-time curator and gallery assistant, and the help of over 40 volunteers, many of whom have been with us for more than 10 years.

By supporting local and national artists and creators through our diverse program of exhibitions and events, we aim to inspire and engage our community. Our efforts would not be possible without the invaluable contributions of artists, donors, volunteers, and individuals like you. Thank you for being an integral part of our family and our story.

Join us on this artistic journey and explore exciting opportunities for collaboration!
