Lady Stardust - Solo Art Exhibition by Bridget Barnett

Exploring the liminal space that sits somewhere between painting and sculpture, converse and concave surfaces create optical interference patterns.
Solo exhibition of vibrantly colourful paintings/planar/sculptural paintings by Bridget Barnett – LADY STARDUST, at The Framing Workshop (120 Silverdale Road, Hamilton) 13 – 10th October. Opening from 5.30 – 7 pm, Friday 13th September 2024 – all Welcome!
Artist Statement: “I create colourful works of art to inspire hope, joy and wonder in the everyday. I am constantly driven through play to discover how far I can push the boundaries of my works through the media I use’.
This vibrant body of works is an intensive exploration of who or what defines painting. Commencing on the two-dimensional plane, this evolutionary enquiry progresses to organic planar forms – freed from the confines of the canvas – moving into the realm of three-dimensional contoured and convex paintings, where the traditional covering is disregarded and the form becomes the canvas.
Exploring the liminal space that sits somewhere between painting and sculpture, converse and concave surfaces create optical interference patterns. Machine and handmade forms are juxtaposed with horizontal and vertical planes, vibrant colour palettes and gloopy drips.
