Journaling for Joy for Kids

14 Jul

A school holiday workshop for kids 10+ to explore grounding and gratitude through arts & crafts.

Journaling for Joy for kids is a mid-afternoon workshop for kids to explore grounding and gratitude through their five senses. Participants create an 8-page mini zine to keep. Journaling for Joy for Kids takes the creative calm of Journaling for Joy: A Gratitude-Based Zine Workshop and adapts the mindfulness techniques into age appropriate prompts using kid-friendly language.

Journaling for Joy (for kids) is a mid-afternoon workshop in which learners aged 10+ explore grounding and gratitude through their five senses. The kids will do writing exercises before learning to create an 8 page mini-zine to keep. The prompts provided are age appropriate writing prompts, supported by simple grounding exercises to help their little bodies feel calm.

As a qualified and registered Secondary teacher who has taught learners as young as Year 2, Brittany Rose (the tutor) draws on her education experience to work safely with young people. She believes in a child-centred approach to learning. She is more than happy to chat with parents before or after, and caregivers are welcome to purchase a ticket and take a seat at the craft table, too.
