Fresh off the Press

WSA’s Monday Experimental Printmaking ClassAn exploration of process, play and persistence.
Working primarily with woodcuts, each print in this exhibition is the result of carving, layering, and responding — week by week, mark by mark.
Our approach is hands-on and open-ended. We embrace risk taking, happy accidents, and the idea that so-called “mistakes” often lead to something even more interesting. As we carve and print, we are constantly discovering, adjusting, and developing our ideas. Rolling with it becomes part of the process.
By chipping away at our blocks and adding a layer a week, we see our work transform. Each layer brings a new challenge, whether in composition, colour, or technique. In every print there’s evidence of experimentation — of learning from failure, finding new paths, and growing as artists.
These prints are, quite literally, fresh off the press — raw, honest, and full of learning, and filled with the energy of making and learning.
Fresh off the Press is at Artspost until August 30th. Don’t miss out!
