Drawing with Light - Cyanotypes with Lynn Taylor

Shine a light on the 19th-century blueprinting process, cyanotype. Create art with the power of the sun and photosensitive chemicals.
Shine a light on the 19th-century blueprinting process, cyanotype!
With the power of the sun and photosensitive chemicals you can unlock the world of blueprinting. Using a combination of found objects from the local surrounds, transparencies and digital photo negatives, we will process narratives through developing prints.
The Drawing with Light workshop is accessible to beginner and experienced artists and may be of special interest for printmakers, architects, photographers and scientists. We will produce cyanotypes using a wide range of ‘shadows’, including your own imagery, marks and textures, objects, plant material, photographs, digital negatives. We will explore double exposures, toning, fabric and wet cyanotype. Work produced will be edited and compiled into hanging strips and hung poster style in the Ruth Davey Exhibition Gallery alongside an evolving ‘sketchbook style’ exhibition created by Lynn while on residency the week prior.
