Our Cow Art Festival 2025 is a live art event and the beginning of our donation campaign celebrating the 15th anniversary of our gallery. The Cow Art Festival 2025, offers a unique opportunity for you to engage with the community and support our cause. Your donation will help the Morrinsville Gallery Family continue our art, culture, and tourism efforts, creating a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming farming district in the Mighty Waikato. We would love for you to be a part of this exciting event!
This project will culminate in the presentation of our renovated cow, currently named Mooloo, who will feature a new design and NEW name this year to coincide with our 15-year anniversary in October. Mooloo has been proudly part of one of the most vibrant street art projects in New Zealand: the Morrinsville Herd of Cows.
Colin and Sharyn Fabish from Professionals Real Estate in Morrinsville generously transferred ownership of Mooloo, the cow, to our gallery. Soon, she will be given a new identity and relocated to the front of the gallery, where she will represent our core values as the heart of community art and culture in the Matamata-Piako District.
The painting event for our renovated cow will be the beginning of the Cow Art Festival from July 21 to August 10, 2025. This live event will include a rotation of 16 local artists painting the cow under the dedicated leadership of our curator, Elizabeth Borrows and with the support of our Fundraising Committee.
This creative project will take place in full view of the public inside the prominent street frontage of the Morrinsville Gallery, our Awatea space, offering a brilliant opportunity for visibility and community engagement for all the supporters of this project.
The Cow Art Festival 2025 will be essential in supporting the Morrinsville Gallery financial plan for 2025/26 and securing additional funds for all the creative projects we undertake for our community throughout the year.
We invite your family or organization to help us bring this vision to life and your support will make a significant impact to this creative endeavour as well as our other ambitious community plans, which include supporting school exhibitions, training our team, updating our technological resources, and improving the promotion and marketing of our artists, creators and events.
