Cartographic Sound Map - Soundscape Ecology Project

Nov 29 – 30

An interactive cartographic sound map

Cartographic Sound Map – Soundscape Ecology Project is an interactive cartographic sound map that examines specific Waikato sites and how they are impacted by human inhabitation.

Kent Macpherson has developed the field recording for this project with assistance from the Junats (The Waikato Junior Naturalist Club), local school-aged ecologists. Kent says.  “It’s important to get youth thinking about the impact of humans on all living things, including the impact noise pollution has on humans themselves”.
