A exclusive Botanical tour of the Sculpure Park and Arboretum with John Wakeling

John Wakeling is the founder of the Sculpture Park and Arboretum which was a 30 plus year project to restore a derelict landscape, tranforming it into a 17.5 hectare arboretum.

Today the Art-In-nature experience takes you along a 2km trail, with a landscape of ponds, cliffs, rocks, flowering shrubs and trees. The planting includes not just New Zealand native plants and trees but varieties from other reigions including a not to be missed American section featuring cacti and succculents.

The botanical tour is your opportunity to hear first hand the story of the arboretum and the amazing journey it took to create this landscape.

 At 5pm, Saturday, 25th March, he will take you on a two hour botanical tour of the arboretum.
