Arts Under the Mountain, Street Festival, Te Aroha

We are looking for Artists to participate in this years Festival.

This will be the 5th year for this special festival which offers an important opportunity to support and showcase the creative community in Te Aroha and the wider region.   It includes all the wonderful stuff, gorgeous creative items  and art works for sale, live music, street performance, a fashion event, ice creams, candy floss, cafes, coffee carts and all the shops open!  Whittaker Street, Te Aroha’s main street is closed off for the event, creating an awesome atmosphere.

We have some exciting new things happening this year, one of them being a Te Aroha first!  A 16m x13m stretch tent will cover part of Whittaker Street and provide a central hub and unique vibe for the festival.  There will be some shared sites available this year for those who don’t want a full space (3 x 3). It is free to attend and or participate in the festival.

Special guests this year are Ana Lorite and Sergio Aguilar from Naranjarte, a Spanish theatre company who will be performing their puppetry, juggling, and illusion performance “The Bell” (with funding assistance from the Creative Communities Fund).

The festival once again coincides with the NZ Motor Caravan Association’s annual Te Aroha Rally where an additional 1000+ travellers descend on Te Aroha to enjoy all that it has to offer.  Adrian Worsley, Metal Sculptor will also have his gallery open which was a huge drawcard to town and a great success last year.

If you would like to register your interest or have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to call Deborah Dove on 021 410743
