Arts on Tuesday Fundraising event on July 15th

15 Jul, 2025

For the past 15 years, the Morrinsville Gallery has celebrated the art and the people that make our community a vibrant place to live!

Join us for the “Arts on Tuesday” event on July 15th at 10:30 AM, featuring music, masterpieces, and Matariki, with the wonderful support of the Morrinsville Gallery Fundraising Committee

The Morrinsville Gallery Fundraising Committee proudly supports this monthly event, designed to provide you with enlightening conversations, music performances, a presentation on barbershop singing, and a Matariki Q&A session.

This music-themed event will feature a wonderful performance by Keith Rodgers on clarinet and Jane Fergusson on our fabulous grand piano.

We are thrilled to announce Christine Hommell, a longtime member of the nationally award-winning singing group The Rivertones. She will be sharing her insights about barbershop singing. We also have other guest appearances planned to ensure a varied and engaging program. Furthermore, the Q&A session about Matariki will focus on how and why to celebrate this significant occasion, and attendees will receive a handout to take home.

During your visit, be sure to enjoy “Play,” the art show presented by our friends at The Arts House Trust, and explore the community-wide Matariki exhibition in the Whakaaturanga Gallery. We also invite you to discover the adjacent shows in the Awatea and Community galleries, which feature a vibrant display of creativity and colour from Matamata Intermediate. Additionally, you will be amazed by the stunning carvings from the annual Ngākau Carving Symposium in Thames, as well as impressive sculptures, ceramics, prints, weaving, and stonework created by members of the Vessel Gallery on Pollen Street in Thames.

Fundraising tickets for Arts on Tuesday are just $15 for adults and koha for children under 12 years. As always, a delicious morning tea featuring home-baked treats (mostly gluten-free) will be served, providing an enjoyable aspect of the morning alongside fellowship and lively conversation.

Your contribution helps create a better future for our local community by supporting the invaluable Morrinsville Gallery, and we deeply appreciate it.

Remember to mark your calendar and check our website regularly—we gather for Arts on Tuesdays once a month. We look forward to seeing you there!

We do not charge entry for visiting our exhibitions, and donations are always greatly appreciated.

As a non-profit organization, we rely entirely on community support. Our efforts would not be possible without the help of donors, volunteers, and community members like you.

Thank you for being an integral part of our community and our story.
