Approaching Cubism
Come and join artist Jimmy Chang in this class that focuses on learning how Cubists look, draw and paint.
Lesson content:
1.Learning the history/theory of Cubism, introducing important cubist figures- Picasso, Braque, Gris etc.
2.Studying the subject matter, perspective, use of color, ways of approach etc.
3.Learning to look in Cubist way(multi-perspective) and practicing on subjects (still-life, portrait etc.), make drawings.
4.Making Cubist Paintings with acrylic.
5.Self critique: trying to know what one has done with his/her work is important, one should inspect the work from different perspectives to realize what has been achieved or what can be improved.
