    5-Day Production Throwing Course

    May 20 – 24

This workshop is aimed at more advanced throwers and is taught by our lead production potter Callum Trudgeon.

The 5-day intensive workshop is aimed at more advanced throwers who are looking to increase their speed, accuracy, efficiency and repetition of forms.

Our lead production potter Callum Trudgeon joined us in 2022 from The Leach Pottery in St. Ives, Cornwall. He was trained and worked in production for nine years at The Leach and holds a wealth of knowledge and experience. A maxim of 5 students keeps your group small, close-knit and provides more direct tuition with your tutor.

The pottery classes run from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. Day 1 starts at 9:30am.

    The course covers:

    • Throwing with set weights and sizes.
    • Exercise to improve throwing speed.
    • Designing your own forms.
    • Throwing to a gauge.
    • Turning and finishing, pulling and attaching handles

Clay is included and we provide tools. You are welcome to bring your own tools if you prefer. Course price includes glazing and firing of 5 pieces. You are welcome to take any greenware with you.

    * Accommodation is not available on site or included in the price.
