    5-Day Production Throwing Course

    Jan 11 – 15

This 5-day practice-based wheel throwing pottery course is for intermediate to advanced potters. The aim of the course is to improve throwing speed

This course is taught by Callum Trudgeon who has been a production potter for over nine years learning his trade at The Leach Pottery in St. Ives. Callum is now the lead production potter here at Driving Creek.

A maxim of 5 students keeps your group small, close-knit and provides more direct tuition with your tutor.

The pottery classes run from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. Day 1 starts at 9:30am.

    The course covers:

Throwing with set weights and sizes.

    Exercise to improve throwing speed.

    Designing your own forms.

    Throwing to a gauge.

Turning and finishing, pulling and attaching handles

Clay is included and we provide tools. You are welcome to bring your own tools if you prefer.

Course price includes glazing and firing of 5 pieces. You are welcome to take any greenware with you.
